Morpheus8 by InMode: Transform your Skin from Within

As we navigate the ever-evolving world of skincare and aesthetic treatments, one name has recently risen to the forefront: Morpheus8. This cutting-edge technology has been hailed as a potential game-changer in the pursuit of our collective “fountain of youth.”

As an advanced, minimally-invasive technology, Morpheus8 harnesses the power of radiofrequency (RF) energy to remodel and recontour the skin from the inside out. In a world where the pursuit of eternal youth has captivated the minds of many, the emergence of revolutionary skincare technologies has paved the way for a new era of rejuvenation.

The Morpheus8 by InMode is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to remodel and resurface the skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Over time, this helps to tighten and firm the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging.

What makes Morpheus8 Special?

What sets Morpheus8 apart is its ability to address a wide array of skin concerns, from fine lines and wrinkles to uneven texture and stubborn pigmentation. Unlike traditional microneedling, which only targets the surface of the skin, Morpheus8 penetrates deeper, reaching the underlying layers to trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Over time, this helps to tighten and firm the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sagging, uneven skin tone and texture. The result is a rejuvenated, youthful-looking complexion. The synergistic blend of microneedling and radiofrequency technology penetrates deep into the skin, targeting the underlying structures that contribute to the visible signs of aging. This innovative treatment, with its luxurious and effective approach, has become a staple in the beauty regimens of the Kardahsians, Eva Longoria, Bella Thorne, Lisa Rinna, and Keyna Moore to name a few.

Morpheus8 for the Face and the Body

The precision of the Morpheus8 device allows for targeted treatments, ensuring that the results are tailored to each person’s unique skin needs. While it’s commonly used for facial treatments, Morpheus8 can also be an effective solution for addressing concerns on other areas of the body. Furthermore, this treatment is designed to work on all skin types and tones, making it an inclusive option for individuals of diverse backgrounds.

When used for the body, Morpheus8 can help improve the appearance of various skin concerns, such as:

  • Skin Tightening: The RF energy penetrates the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting tighter, more youthful-looking skin.
  • Stretch Mark Reduction: The fractional technology of Morpheus8 can help diminish the appearance of stretch marks by remodeling the skin’s structure and texture.
  • Cellulite Improvement: By targeting the underlying fat and connective tissue, Morpheus8 can help smooth the dimpled appearance of cellulite on the thighs, hips, or buttocks.
  • Scarring and Discoloration: The treatment can enhance the skin’s overall tone and texture, reducing the visibility of scars, discoloration, or uneven pigmentation on the face & body.

How does it Work?

The treatment is performed using a specialized handpiece that contains tiny needles that painlessly puncture the skin. This allows the RF energy to be delivered precisely where it’s needed most. Many patients find the procedure relatively comfortable, especially with the use of a topical numbing cream beforehand.

The procedure is generally well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort, and requires little to no downtime, making it a convenient option for many people.

For the discerning individual, Morpheus8 offers a luxurious experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional skincare. The treatment’s precision and customizability allow for a tailored approach, ensuring that each client’s unique needs are addressed with the utmost care and attention to detail.

How to Determine if the Morpheus8 Treatment is Right for You

It’s important to consult with a qualified aesthetic provider to determine if Morpheus8 is the right treatment for your specific body concerns and to ensure optimal results. Every person’s skin is unique and a thorough skincare consultation allows a professional the opportuity to evaluate your skin type, condition and goals. From there, you will receive treatment recommentdations tailored specifially for you. This ensures you are not wasting time and money on treatments or products that may not work for your skin.

A skincare consultation isn’t just about finding the right products; it’s about understanding the underlying causes of your skin concerns. After all, what good is a fancy serum if it’s not addressing the root of the problem? Think of it as a skincare detective investigation – your consultant will delve into your lifestyle, environmental factors, and even your genetic makeup to uncover the true culprits behind that frustrating breakout or dullness.

My Skin Story

After turning 40 in December (2023), it became even more paramount for me to take better care of my skin & body. After having three kids myself, the skin on my face changed. It doesn’t seem to matter how much collagen I drink or how many incredible products I put on my face, there remains to be some issues that I just can’t repair on my own. I love to try non-surgical beauty treatments  and procedures because I’m an advocate for doing anything I can today to help ensure the integrity of my skin tomorrow and for years to come. We all have a skin story and I am so excited to partner with Aurora Skin & Vein for part of mine.

Established in 1998, Aurora Skin & Vein is physician owned and operated. They proudly offer the most effective and advanced treatments while creating an enjoyable and empoweing patient experience.

I started my skin journey with Aurora Skin & Vein this past January (2024) with a detatiled skin consultation on whether or not I would be a good fit for the Morpheus8 Treatment. Read more about what we discussed below or check out the video here (linked to instagram post):

Brittany (Aurora Skin & Vein): My name is Brittany. I am a clinical medical esthetician here at Aurora Skin & Vein. I am your Morpheus 8 technician as well.

Ky: How would you describe the Morpheus8 treatment?

Brittany: Morpheus8 is InMode’s device for microneedling with radiofrequency. Morpheus8 is good for anything as far as overall skin complexion if you’re looking to brighten the complexion that you have also with the added benefit of skin tightening over and above what your regular microneedling can do when adding in the radiofrequency. It has the benefit of not only collagen stimulation but collagen regeneration.

Also, Morpheus8 has the benefit to melt submental fat in the lower face area, double chain area, those types of things with the dramatic effect of your skin tightening.

Ky: To be clear, what is the difference between microneedling and the Morpheus8 treatment?

Brittany: The difference between the Morpheus 8 and regular microneedling; I guess the similarities first and foremost is they’re still making those micro injuries into the skin to help stimulate collagen production, diminishing of fine lines and wrinkles, a little bit of skin tightening with your regular microneedling.

However, when adding in the added benefit of the radio frequency using Morpheus8, once the needles have penetrated, radio frequency brings the added benefit of more collagen stimulation, more collagen regeneration. It actually creates a micro injury wound in the interdermal layer of your skin to promote wound healing from the inside. Meaning, we’re tightening skin from the inside which would appear back on the outside. It’s more of a elevated level of collagen stimulation and collagen regeneration with the added benefit of melting of submental fat, a bigger punch as far as skin tightening goes.

Ky: Who is the Morpheus8 treatment good for?

Brittany: Morpheus is geared towards anyone really. At the ripe age of 30 years old, we start to produce collagen at a slower rate, and then as women, we go through menopause and that also takes a dramatic hit on our collagen production. So anyone who is looking to keep those wheels of collagen spinning, anyone who’s suffering with skin laxity, fine lines wrinkles, acne scarring, some pigmentation issues, is who the more face is good for.

We are able to treat a wide variety of skin types and skin textures and skin tones, being that there is heat associated that is up to your provider to use the appropriate settings for all skin types.

Ky: The crepey skin around my eyes is an area of concern for me, is this something we will be able to treat with the Morpheus8?

Brittany: Yes. My focus coming into this is knowing what your main concern is. What areas are you looking to improve the most. I have a lot of people coming in who are looking to treat lower face, jowl area, submental fat underneath the chin, also with people wanting to open up their eyes, hooded eyelids, the fine lines and wrinkles that you are finding under your eyes there, we will be able to draw our focus to those areas that you are wanting to treat. We’re also able to add on a resurfacing tip, more geared towards those fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scarring, things like that.

And then with the body tip obviously goes much deeper than a face treatment tip for the melting of that fatty layer, also adding in the skin tightening. that’s customizable through each treatment.

Ky: Will it be able to help with the dropping (sagging) that is happening under the eyebrow?

Brittany: We are able to come inside the brow line; not right over the eyelid but I am able to pull as much skin up as I can up and over the brow bone and treat the area for tightening, lifting, and opening up the eyes.

Ky: What about the Marionette lines?

Brittany: When coming in and doing a full face treatment people often compare to when you’re going in for your regular microneedling to the microneedling with radiofrequency, the depth can be the same in a lot of areas. It comes down to the radio frequency. The higher the level, the more meltng we’re going to do. Obviously, there are areas on your face where I am not going to be using a lot of radio frequency energy; it’s more about how many injuries can I make in your skin. You’ve got beautiful contouring to your face so it’s mostly skin tightening, and more superficial in that aspect. Not needing to penetrate as deep with as much radio frequency for you.

Ky: And we can get some of the acne scarring?

Brittany: Yes! We always have the option to add on a resurfacing tip. The resurfacing tip is beautiful for surface pigmentation, fine line, wrinkles, acne scarring; and that is something we can add on to one to two of your treatment series of your series of three.

Usually, I start off with just your full face, regular Morpheus then it’s up; to me to see what you got out of that first treatment and what I need to fine tune and add in other personalized options. We’re also doing neck. We’re doing a lot of body areas. Unwanted fat, cellulite areas that you’re looking to improve. Really good for our back of the arms above the knees anywhere that you’re suffering from skin laxity.

Ky: How many treatments will I need?

Brittany: As with anyone who is coming in, I like to start with a series of three. Three is a great starting point. We do those treatments every four to six weeks apart, three treatments back to back. About one to two months after that I get you back in to reassess and to see what you’ve got in out of those three treatments, how much more we can do, what your expectations are, and have they been met.

Ky: What can I expect immediately post-treatment?

Brittany: Immediately post-treatment you are going to feel that windburn, sunburn sensation and have some redness from the little micro injuries in your skin and that’s really about it.

Ky: Are there any potential adverse side effects?

Brittany: We know we run the risk of bruising, swelling, especially in and around the eye area, lower face along the jawline. Any type of bony areas in that way is really the only area.

Ky: Is the procedure painful?

Brittany: Pain management is controlled by a topical numbing cream. During your treatments you are here for anywhere from two to two and a half hours depending on the areas that we’re treating.

The first hour you are under a topical numbing cream. A few layers of that has been kind of what we have found that has worked the best as far as pain management goes.

Ky: Is there any downtime?

Brittany: After the Morpheus8 treatment, there is typically some mild redness and swelling that subsides within a few days. Most people can return to their normal daily activities shortly after their appointment. Over the next several weeks, they’ll begin to notice smoother, more youthful-looking skin on the face. You are also not able to wear sunscreen and/or makeup for about two days afterwards.

We need those holes to heal and to close up. Those things (sunscreen and makeup) belong on your skin, not in your skin, so I send you with a post-care procedure kit that you can use as far as skincare for the first few days post-treatment.

You do need to limit your sun exposure because we run the risk of post inflammatory pigmentation. Little marks can appear in your skin with time they will fade, but it’s just best to avoid and limit your sun exposure post treatment.

Ky: Beautiful. I’m really excited!

Brittany: Morpheus8 at Aurora Skin & Vein has been a great add-on to the treatments that we have already offered for a wide range of our clientele here. Being able to offer the power tool as far as skin tightening, anti-aging, overall complexion, brightening treatment goes; we are happy to have it here.

The Morpheus8 is a versatile skin rejuvenation treatment that can help address a variety of concerns on the face, from wrinkles and sagging to uneven texture and pigmentation. Its ability to remodel the skin from the inside out makes it a popular choice for those looking to achieve a more refreshed, radiant complexion. Although the Morpheus8 treatment is a innovative minimally-invasive procedure that can provide impressive skin rejuvenation and remodeling results; it is important to carefully evaluate with a professional provider whether this treatment is the best option for your specific needs and aesthetic goals.

I look forward to sharing the results of the three Morpheus8 treatments I received from Aurora Skin & Vein soon; but, until then, here is a glimpse of the improvements I saw after just one treatment.
